A Stroll Along The Covenant Trail!

1. Understand that you have to have FAITH to please God.
Galatians 5:5 - "For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope."
2. Abraham the father of FAITH.
Genesis 12:1-3 - "The Lord had said to Abram, 'Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
Genesis 15:1 - "...Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."
Genesis 15:6 - "Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness."
Genesis 5:9-11 - "So the Lord said to him, 'Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.' Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half. Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away."
3. Where the phrase CUT A DEAL comes from.
4. Walking the COVENANT walk.
Who walked the walk in Abraham's place? (Jesus' presence)
What did the smoking firepot and blazing torch represent? (Jesus' shekinah glory)
Psalm 119:105 - "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
5. How do you think we should RESPOND to this?
