1. To protect the INNOCENT , God set up cities of REFUGE in the promised land.
Joshua 20:1 – “…Tell the Israelites to designate the cities of refuge, as I instructed you through Moses, so that anyone who kills a person accidentally and unintentionally may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood.”
Joshua 20:4 – “When they flee to one of these cities, they are to stand in the entrance to the city gate and state their case before the elders of that city. Then the elders are to admit the fugitive into their city and provide a place to live among them.”
Numbers 35:12 – “They will be places of refuge from the avenger, so that anyone accused of murder may not die before they stand trial before the assembly.”

Titus 3:1 – “Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.”
Ecclesiastes 3:17 – “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”
3. Thanks to God’s tremendous LOVE for us, God grants us his MERCY.

Titus 3:5 – “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit., whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.”

Deuteronomy 7:9 – “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep his commandments.”
Luke 6:36 – “Be merciful just as your Father is merciful.”
Psalm 89:14 – “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before your face.”
