Confirming your Calling and Election

10 “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
~ 2 Peter 1:10-11
1) Peter greets the disciples in love!
2 Peter 1:1 – “Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours.”
2 Peter 1:2 – “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”
2) Through God’s divine power he has given us everything we need to live a godly life!
2 Peter 1:3 – “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
2 Peter 1:4 – “Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
3) God blesses and enables us to participate in his divine nature!
2 Peter 1:5-7 – “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.”
Galatians 5:22 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
2 Peter 1:8 - “For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:9 – “But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.”
4) The Lord wants us to make every effort to confirm our calling and our election in Christ Jesus!
2 Peter 1:10 – “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election.”
2 Peter 1:10-11 – “For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Ephesians 4:1-3 – “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

estas cosas, nunca tropezaréis, 11 y recibiréis una rica bienvenida en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.”

1) Pedro saluda a sus discipulos con amor!
2 Pedro 1:1 – “Simón Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesucristo,a los que por la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador Jesucristo han recibido una fe tan preciosa como la nuestra.”
2 Pedro 1:2 – “Que abunden en ustedes la gracia y la paz por medio del conocimiento que tienen de Dios y de Jesús nuestro Señor.”
2) A traves del poder divino de Dios, nos ha dado lo necesario para vivir una vida santa!
2 Pedro 1:3 – “Su divino poder, al darnos el conocimiento de aquel que nos llamó por su propia gloria y excelencia, nos ha concedido todas las cosas que necesitamos para vivir con devoción.”
2 Pedro 1:4 – “Así Dios nos ha entregado sus preciosas y magníficas promesas para que ustedes, luego de escapar de la corrupción que hay en el mundo debido a los malos deseos, lleguen a tener parte en la naturaleza divina.”
3) Dios nos bendice y nos permite participar en su naturaleza divina!
2 Pedro 1:5-7 – “Precisamente por eso, esfuércense por añadir a su fe, virtud; a su virtud, conocimiento; al conocimiento, dominio propio; al dominio propio, constancia; a la constancia, devoción a Dios; a la devoción a Dios, afecto fraternal; y al afecto fraternal, amor.”
Galatas 5:22 – “En cambio, el fruto del Espíritu es amor, alegría, paz, paciencia, amabilidad, bondad, fidelidad.”
2 Pedro 1:8 - “Porque estas cualidades, si abundan en ustedes, los harán crecer en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y evitarán que sean inútiles e improductivos.”
2 Pedro 1:9 – “En cambio, el que no las tiene es tan corto de vista que ya ni ve y se olvida de que ha sido purificado de sus antiguos pecados.”
4) El Señor quiere que hagamos todo esfuerzo por confirmar nuestro llamado y eleccion en Cristo!
2 Pedro 1:10 – “Por lo tanto, hermanos, esfuércense más todavía por asegurarse del llamado de Dios, que fue quien los eligió.”
2 Pedro 1:10-11 – “Si hacen estas cosas, no caerán jamás y se les abrirán de par en par las puertas del reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.”
Efesios 4:1-3 – “Por eso yo, que estoy preso por la causa del Señor, les ruego que vivan de una manera digna del llamamiento que han recibido, siempre humildes y amables, pacientes, tolerantes unos con otros en amor. Esfuércense por mantener la unidad del Espíritu mediante el vínculo de la paz.”
