Deliverance from Affliction (Part Two)

Speaking This Week Greg Escher

Recognize & rejoice in the benefits of being afflicted:

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes.” Psalm 119:67,71.
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience (endurance, perseverance). But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4.

Anticipate redemption & restoration:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:15,17-19.

Call upon the Lord three times daily - David & Daniel:

“As for me, I will call upon God, and the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:16-17.
“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” Daniel 6:10.

Jesus came to deliver us from affliction:

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38.

Wait on the Lord without anxiety or stress:

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.

Together, as a united church, we should contend for deliverance for the afflicted:

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17.
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:19-20.

Liberación de la Aflicción (Segunda parte)

Reconoce y regocíjate en los beneficios de ser afligido:

“Antes de ser afligido, descarriado andaba, pero ahora guardo tu palabra. Bueno es para mí haber sido afligido, para que aprenda tus estatutos.” Salmo 119:67,71.
“Hermanos míos, tened por sumo gozo cuando os halléis en diversas pruebas, sabiendo que la prueba de vuestra fe produce paciencia (resistencia, perseverancia). Mas que la paciencia tenga su obra completa, para que seáis perfectos (maduros) y completos, sin que os falte nada.” Santiago 1:2-4.

Anticipa la redención y la restauración:

“Y sabemos que a los que aman a Dios, todas las cosas les ayudan a bien, esto es, a los que conforme a su propósito son llamados.” Romanos 8:28.
“Los ojos del Señor están sobre los justos, y sus oídos atentos a su clamor. Claman los justos, y el Señor los escucha y los libra de todas sus angustias. El Señor está cerca de los quebrantados de corazón y salva a los contritos de espíritu. Muchas son las aflicciones del justo, pero de todas ellas lo libra el Señor.” Salmo 34:15,17-19.

Invoca al Señor tres veces al día - David y Daniel:

“En cuanto a mí, invocaré a Dios, y el Señor me salvará. Tarde, mañana y mediodía oraré y clamaré, y él oirá mi voz.” Salmo 55:16-17.
“Cuando Daniel supo que el escrito estaba firmado, regresó a su casa. Y en su aposento alto, con las ventanas abiertas hacia Jerusalén, se arrodilló tres veces al día, y oró y dio gracias delante de su Dios, como solía hacerlo desde su juventud.” Daniel 6:10.

Jesús vino a librarnos de la aflicción:

“Estas cosas les he hablado para que en mí encuentren paz. En el mundo tendrán tribulaciones; pero tengan ánimo, yo he vencido al mundo.” Juan 16:33.
“…cómo Dios ungió con el Espíritu Santo y con poder a Jesús de Nazaret, y cómo éste anduvo haciendo bienes y sanando a todos los oprimidos por el diablo; porque Dios estaba con él.” Hechos 10:38.

Espera en el Señor sin ansiedad ni estrés:

“Encomienda al Señor tu carga, y él te sustentará; no permitirá que el justo sea conmovido.”Salmo 55:22.
“Por nada estéis afanosos, sino en toda ocasión, con oración y ruego, y acción de gracias, sean dadas a conocer vuestras peticiones delante de Dios. Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.” Filipenses 4:6-7.

Juntos, como iglesia unida, debemos luchar por la liberación de los afligidos:

“En esto se ha perfeccionado el amor entre nosotros: para que tengamos confianza en el día del juicio; pues como él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.” 1 Juan 4:17.
“Otra vez os digo que si dos de vosotros se ponen de acuerdo en la tierra acerca de cualquier cosa que pidan, les será concedida por mi Padre que está en los cielos. Porque donde dos o tres están reunidos en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos.” Mateo 18:19-20.
