7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
~ Ephesians 1:7
1. An essential part of God’s Grand plan is to redeem mankind from the devastating effects of sin by showering us with his unconditional love, mercy and grace.
Redempion defined – “The action of saving or being saved from sin, error or evil, or the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, clearing a debt.”
2. In the Old Testament God lays out the problem and his plan of redemption.
God entered into a covenant with the Israelites to bless and protect them as long as they kept his moral laws and followed his sacrificial requirements.
God provided Moses with the Law – the 10 commandments for the people to follow. However, no one can measure up to God’s perfect standards.
God reveals that his plan of salvation will redeem sinners from bondage based on the payment of a required price by the redeemer.
There are many prophecies about the Messiah who.would be the redeemer for Mankind.
3. Old Testament verses about Redemption.
Isaiah 44:22 – “I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”
Psalms 111:9 – “He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever – holy and awesome is his name.”
Lamentations 3:57-58 – “You came near when I called you, and you said, ‘Do not fear.’ You Lord took up my case; you redeemed my life.”
Job 19:25-26 – “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God.”
4. In the New Testament Jesus the Christ fulfilled this requirement by paying the price with his own life to redeem us from sin and reconcile us with our heavenly Father.
God provides a new and better covenant through the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ.
The gospel message is that Christ has covered our sins, redeemed us from evil and reconciled us with God the Father through the shedding of his blood.
We received this right standing with God through his grace and unconditional love and mercy in exchange for our faith and belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
It doesn’t depend on our works or ability to comply with God’s perfect standards of holiness.
5. New Testament Verses.
Ephesians 1:7 – “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
Galatians 1:3-4 – “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
Galatians 3:13 – “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written; ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’”
Hebrews 9:15 – “For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance - now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the covenant.”
I Peter 1:18-19 – “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
Colossians 1:12-14 – “…and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in when we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Luke 21:25-28 – “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

1. Una parte esencial del plan de Dios es redimir la humanidad de los efectos devastantes del pecado bañandonos con su amor incondicional, misericordi y gracia.
Redencion, definicion – “La accion de salvar o ser salvo del pecado, error o maldad, o la accion de ganar o retomar posesion de algo a cambio de un pago, o a cambio de una deuda.”
2. En el Antiguo Testamento Dios dice el problema y su plan de redencion.
Dios entra en un pacto con los Israelitas para bendecir y protejerles mientras cumplan sus leyes morales y sigan sus requeridos sacrifcios.
Dios le dio su ley a Moises – los 10 madamientos que debemos seguir. Pero, nadie puede llegar a los estandares perfectos de Dios.
Dios revela su plan de salvacion, redimiendo a los pecadores de las ataduras basadas en el precio pagado por el redentor.
Hay muchas profecias acerca del Mesias que habria de redimir a la humanidad.
3. Versos del Antiguo Testamento acerca de la Redencion.
Isaias 44:22 – “Como si fuera una nube he borrado tus transgresiones y tus pecados, como la bruma de la mañana. Vuelve a mí, que te he redimido.
Salmos 111:9 – “Pagó el precio del rescate de su pueblo y estableció su pacto para siempre. Su nombre es santo y temible.”
Lamentaciones 3:57-58 – “Te invoqué, y viniste a mí No temas, me dijiste. Tú, Señor, te pusiste de mi parte; tú redimiste mi vida.
Job 19:25-26 – Yo sé que mi Redentor vive y que al final se levantará sobre el polvo. Y, cuando mi piel haya sido destruida, todavía veré a Dios con mis propios ojos.”
4. En el Nuevo Testamento Jesus Cristo lleno su requerimiento pagando el precio con su propia vida para redimirnos del pecado y reconciliadonos con nuestro Padre Celestial.
Dios provee un pacto nuevo y mejor atraves del sacrificio de su hijo Jesuscristo.
El envangelio es que Cristo ha cubierto nuestros pecados, redeimidos de la maldad y reconciliado con Dios el Padre atraves de su sangre derramada.
Recibimos el derecho de estar con Dios atraves de su gracia y amor incondicional y su misericordia a cambio de nuestra Fe y creer en Jesus nuestro Señor y Salvador.
No depende de nuestro trabajo o abilidad de cumplir los estandares perfectos de Dios y su santidad.
5. Versos del Nuevo Testamento.
Efesios 1:7 – “En él tenemos la redención mediante su sangre, el perdón de nuestros pecados, conforme a las riquezas de su gracia.”
Galatas 1:3-5 – “Que Dios nuestro Padre y el Señor Jesucristo les concedan gracia y paz. Jesucristo dio su vida por nuestros pecados para rescatarnos de este mundo malvado, según la voluntad de nuestro Dios y Padre, a quien sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén."
Galatas 3:13 – “Cristo nos rescató de la maldición de la Ley al hacerse maldición por nosotros, pues está escrito: Maldito todo el que es colgado de un madero.”
Hebreos 9:15 – “Por eso Cristo es mediador de un nuevo pacto, para que los llamados reciban la herencia eterna prometida, ahora que él ha muerto para liberarlos de las transgresiones cometidas bajo el primer pacto.”
I Pedro 1:18-19 – “Como bien saben, ustedes fueron rescatados de la vida absurda que heredaron de sus antepasados. El precio de su rescate no se pagó con cosas perecederas, como el oro o la plata, sino con la preciosa sangre de Cristo, como de un cordero sin mancha y sin defecto."
Colosenses 1:12-14 – “…darán gracias al Padre. Él los ha facultado para participar de la herencia de los creyentes en el reino de la luz. Él nos libró del dominio de la oscuridad y nos trasladó al reino de su amado Hijo, en quien tenemos redención y perdón de pecados.”
Lucas 21:25-28 – “Habrá señales en el sol, la luna y las estrellas. En la tierra, las naciones estarán angustiadas y perplejas por el bramido y la agitación del mar. Se desmayarán de terror los hombres, temerosos por lo que va a sucederle al mundo, porque los cuerpos celestes serán sacudidos. Verán entonces al Hijo del hombre venir en una nube con poder y gran gloria. Cuando comiencen a suceder estas cosas, cobren ánimo y levanten la cabeza, porque se acerca su redención.”
