Jesus Loves The Little Children

Today’s Verses

Psalm 139:13-16, Matthew 19:13-15, Matthew 18:3-7,  Proverbs 22:6, Deuteronomy 6:6-9, and Ephesians 6:1-4

 

Verse of the Week 14 "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'" ~ Matthew 19:14

 

1. Every child is special to God.

  • Psalm 139:13-16 – “For you created my inmost being,  you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed body, all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

 

2. Jesus loved to have the little children come to him. 

  • Matthew 19:13-15  – "Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them.  But the disciples rebuked them.  Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’  When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.”

 

3. Jesus indicated that we all must be like little children if we want to enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • Matthew 18:3-5 – “And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

 

4. The Lord commands us to train up our children to honor God and follow his commands.

  • Proverbs 22:6 – “Start children off on the way they should go,  and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

  • Deuteronomy 6:4-9 – “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”

Jesús ama a los niños pequeños

14 "Jesús dijo: 'Dejad que los niños vengan a mí y no se lo impidáis, porque de los que son como ellos es el reino de los cielos.'"

~ Mateo 19:14


1. Cada niño es especial para Dios.

  • Salmo 139:13-16 – “Porque tú creaste mis entrañas, me tejiste en el vientre de mi madre.  Te alabo porque soy una creación admirable; tus obras son maravillosas, lo sé muy bien.  No te fue oculta mi ser cuando fui formado en lo secreto, cuando fui entretejido en lo más profundo de la tierra.  Tus ojos vieron mi embrión; todos los días que me fueron ordenados fueron escritos en tu libro antes que uno de ellos naciera.”

 

2. A Jesús le encantaba que los niños pequeños se acercaran a él.

  • Mateo 19:13-15 – “Entonces le trajeron niños pequeños a Jesús para que les impusiera las manos y orara por ellos.  Pero los discípulos los reprendieron.  Jesús dijo: “Dejen que los niños vengan a mí y no se lo impidan, porque de quienes son como ellos es el reino de los cielos.”  Después de imponerles las manos, se fue de allí.”

 

3. Jesús indicó que todos debemos ser como niños pequeños si queremos entrar en el reino de los cielos.

  • Mateo 18:3-5 – “Y dijo: ‘De cierto les digo que si no cambian y se hacen como niños pequeños, no entrarán en el reino de los cielos.  Por lo tanto, el que se humilla como este niño, ése es el mayor en el reino de los cielos.  Y el que recibe a un niño como este en mi nombre, a mí me recibe.’”

 

4. El Señor nos manda educar a nuestros hijos para honrar a Dios y seguir sus mandamientos.

  • Proverbios 22:6 – “Instruye a los niños en el camino que deben seguir, y aun cuando sean viejos no se apartarán de él.”

  • Deuteronomio 6:4-9 – “Escucha, Israel: El Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es. Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con todas tus fuerzas.  Estos mandamientos que te doy hoy estarán grabados en tu corazón.  Graba en tus hijos estos mandamientos.  Habla de ellos cuando estés en casa y cuando andes por el camino, al acostarte y al levantarte.  Átalos como símbolos en tus manos y en tus frentes. Escríbelos en los marcos de tus casas y en tus puertas.”
