The Word of God is The Guardrail on the Highway of Life

Verse of the Week 105 "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light unto my path.” ~ Psalm 119:105

1. God’s Word is the guardrail that keeps us on the narrow path.

2 Timothy 3:16 – “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Psalm 119:11 – “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

2. God’s Word lights our path.

Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light unto my path.”
John 12:46 – “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.”
Matthew 5:14-16 – “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

3. Meditating on Scripture is essential in knowing God’s will for our life.

Joshua 1:7-8 – “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Deuteronomy 11:18-20 – “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”

4. Studying God’s Word will transform your life.

Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. – ”

~ Salmo 119:105

1. La Palabra de Dios es la barrera que nos mantiene en el camino angosto.

2 Timoteo 3:16 – “Toda la Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir y para instruir en la justicia, a fin de que el siervo de Dios esté enteramente capacitado para toda buena obra.”
Salmo 119:11 – “En mi corazón he guardado tu palabra, para no pecar contra ti.”

2. La Palabra de Dios ilumina nuestro camino.

Salmo 119:105 – “Lámpara es a mis pies tu palabra, y lumbrera a mi camino.”
Juan 12:46 – “Yo, la luz, he venido al mundo, para que todo el que cree en mí no permanezca en tinieblas.”
Mateo 5:14-16 – “Vosotros sois la luz del mundo. Una ciudad asentada sobre un monte no se puede esconder. Ni se enciende una lámpara para ponerla debajo de un almud. En cambio, la ponen sobre su candelero, y alumbra a todos los que están en la casa. Así también, hagan brillar su luz delante de los demás, para que vean sus buenas obras y glorifiquen a su Padre que está en el cielo.”

3. Meditar en las Escrituras es esencial para conocer la voluntad de Dios para nuestra vida.

Josué 1:7-8 – “Sé fuerte y muy valiente. Cuídate de obedecer toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés te dio; no te desvíes de ella ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda, para que tengas éxito dondequiera que vayas. Mantén este libro de la ley siempre en tus labios; medita en él día y noche, para que cuides de poner por obra todo lo que está escrito en él. Entonces tendrás prosperidad y éxito.”
Deuteronomio 11:18-20 – “Graben estas palabras mías en sus corazones y mentes; átenlas como símbolos en sus manos y en sus frentes. Enséñenlas a sus hijos, hablando de ellas cuando te sientes en tu casa y cuando andes por el camino, al acostarte y al levantarte. Escríbelas en los marcos de tus casas y en tus puertas.”

4. Estudiar la Palabra de Dios transformará tu vida.

Hebreos 4:12 – “Porque la palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz. Más cortante que cualquier espada de dos filos, penetra hasta partir el alma y el espíritu, las coyunturas y los tuétanos; y discierne los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón.”
Romanos 12:2 – “No os conforméis a este mundo, sino transformaos mediante la renovación de vuestra mente. Así podréis comprobar cuál es la voluntad de Dios: su buena, agradable y perfecta.”
