Verse of the Week
18 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
~ 2 Corinthians 5:18-19
1. Jesus reconciled us to our Heavenly Father.
Romans 5:9-11 – “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
Colossians 1:19-22 – “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.”
2. Jesus reconciled Jews and Gentiles.
Ephesians 2:14-18 – “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.”
3. Jesus gave us a ministry of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 – “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
4. To promote reconciliation we need to behave and forgive like Christ.
Ephesians 4:29-32 – “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Matthew 18:15-17 – “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.”
Matthew 5:23-24 – “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”
Luke 17:1-4 – “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. So watch yourselves. If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”

18 “Todo esto proviene de Dios, quien por medio de Cristo nos reconcilió consigo mismo y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación. 19 Esto es, que en Cristo, Dios estaba reconciliando al mundo consigo mismo, no tomándole en cuenta sus pecados y encargándonos a nosotros el mensaje de la reconciliación.”
~ 2 Corintios 5:18-19
1. Jesus nos reconcilio con nuestro Padre Celestial.
Romanos 5:9-11 – “Y ahora que hemos sido justificados por su sangre, ¡con cuánta más razón, por medio de él, seremos salvados del castigo de Dios! Porque, si cuando éramos enemigos de Dios, fuimos reconciliados con él mediante la muerte de su Hijo, ¡con cuánta más razón, habiendo sido reconciliados, seremos salvados por su vida! Y no solo esto, sino que también nos regocijamos en Dios por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, pues gracias a él ya hemos recibido la reconciliación.”
Colosenses 1:19-22 – “Porque a Dios le agradó habitar en él con toda su plenitude y por medio de él, reconciliar consigo todas las cosas, tanto las de la tierra como las del cielo, haciendo la paz mediante la sangre que derramó en la cruz. En otro tiempo ustedes, por sus actitudes y malas acciones, estaban alejados de Dios y eran sus enemigos. Pero ahora Dios, a fin de presentarlos santos, intachables e irreprensibles delante de él, los ha reconciliado en el cuerpo mortal de Cristo mediante su muerte, con tal de que se mantengan firmes en la fe, bien cimentados y estables, sin abandonar la esperanza que ofrece el evangelio. Este es el evangelio que ustedes oyeron y que ha sido proclamado en toda la creación debajo del cielo y del que yo, Pablo, he llegado a ser servidor.”
2. Jesus reconcilio Judios y Gentiles
Efesios 2:14-18 – “Porque Cristo es nuestra paz: de los dos pueblos ha hecho uno solo, derribando mediante su sacrificio el muro de enemistad que nos separaba, pues anuló la Ley con sus mandamientos y requisitos. Esto lo hizo para crear en sí mismo de los dos pueblos una nueva humanidad al hacer la paz, para reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un solo cuerpo mediante la cruz, por la que dio muerte a la enemistad. Él vino y proclamó paz a ustedes que estaban lejos y paz a los que estaban cerca. Pues por medio de él tenemos acceso al Padre por un mismo Espíritu.”
3. Jesus nos dio un ministerio de reconciliacion
2 Corintios 5: 18-19 – “Todo esto proviene de Dios, quien por medio de Cristo nos reconcilió consigo mismo y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación. Esto es, que en Cristo, Dios estaba reconciliando al mundo consigo mismo, no tomándole en cuenta sus pecados y encargándonos a nosotros el mensaje de la reconciliación.”
4. Para promover la reconciliacion temenos que comportarnos y perdonar como lo hace Cristo
Efesios 4: 29-32 – “Eviten toda conversación obscena. Por el contrario, que sus palabras contribuyan a la necesaria edificación y sean de bendición para quienes escuchan. No agravien al Espíritu Santo de Dios con el que fueron sellados para el día de la redención. Abandonen toda amargura, ira y enojo, gritos y calumnias y toda forma de malicia. Más bien, sean bondadosos y compasivos unos con otros y perdónense mutuamente, así como Dios los perdonó a ustedes en Cristo.”
Mateo 18: 15-17 – “Si tu hermano peca contra ti, ve a solas con él y hazle ver su falta. Si te hace caso, has ganado a tu hermano. Pero si no, lleva contigo a uno o dos más, para que “todo asunto se resuelva mediante el testimonio de dos o tres testigos.” Si se niega a hacerles caso a ellos, díselo a la iglesia; y si incluso a la iglesia no le hace caso, trátalo como si fuera un incrédulo o un cobrador de impuestos.”
Mateo 5:23-24 – “Por lo tanto, si estás presentando tu ofrenda en el altar y allí recuerdas que tu hermano tiene algo contra ti, deja tu ofrenda allí delante del altar. Ve primero y reconcíliate con tu hermano; luego vuelve y presenta tu ofrenda.”
Lucas 17:1-4 – “Luego dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: — Los tropiezos son inevitables, pero ¡ay de aquel que los ocasiona! Más le valdría ser arrojado al mar con una piedra de molino atada al cuello que servir de tropiezo a uno solo de estos pequeños. Así que, ¡cuídense!»Si tu hermano peca, repréndelo; y si se arrepiente, perdónalo. Aun si peca contra ti siete veces en un día, y siete veces regresa a decirte que se arrepiente, perdónalo.”
